› Swim Lesson Information
Classes run monthly. You must register each month in order to attend classes.
Due to limited space, parents are not permitted to remain in the pool area during the lessons, but are asked to wait in the lobby. Parents must remain in the building during their child’s swim lesson.
Parents may enter the pool area 5 minutes prior to the end of swim lessons to pick up their child. Please do not enter the pool area more than 5 minutes before the beginning of your scheduled class.
At the conclusion of lessons all swimmers must exit the pool area to the locker rooms.
Parents may observe their child during the last class of the month.
THERE ARE NO REFUNDS!
Credits CAN be issued for illness ONLY, and must be accompanied by a physician’s note. These requests should be presented to the Aquatics Director.
We will close the pool during electrical storms. A system credit will be issued for that class. If a make-up class was scheduled and a participant chooses not to attend, no make-ups, credits or refunds will be issued.
› Swim Lessons Program
Working from the overall Y philosophy of self-development, our swim lessons use a problem-solving guided discovery teaching approach. The emphasis is on learning, not passing or failing. Instructors work with each student to set goals and evaluate progress in light of the student’s “own” standards. This is called their “personal best.” It is the goal of our swim lessons to build self-esteem and assist personal growth by using encouragement and praise. Our Y Swim Lessons Program is a National YMCA program.
